The American Express Corporate Gold Card is a $250-a-year points card from American Express. It earns 1x on purchases, which puts it behind most rewards cards; you hold it for the account itself, not the rewards.
On our reference budget of $73,200 a year it earns $732, which clears the $250 fee with $482 to spare before any credits or perks.
Keep business spending on it for the separate statement alone; the rewards are the extra. Check the issuer's other business card before deciding, since the categories differ more than the fees do. It charges 2.5% on foreign purchases, so leave it home when you travel abroad.
See issuer for current welcome offer details.
