What CreditMaxer does
Most people learn credit by making mistakes with it. CreditMaxer exists so you can learn it first.
The app connects to your cards and loans, read-only, and turns them into one calendar: statement close dates, due dates, utilization on every card, and the windows when a limit-increase request is likely to land. From those numbers it builds a plan, then explains each step so you can decide whether to follow it. A simulator lets you rehearse a payoff or a new card before you commit, and an assistant answers questions with your actual figures.
The public side of the site needs no account. The Card Hub takes your estimated spend by category and ranks 1,712 cards by what they return after the annual fee. The credit-union directory lists the 20 largest U.S. credit unions by assets and shows which ones you can join.
What we hold to
Your judgment, not ours
Every recommendation explains itself. You make the moves. Nothing in CreditMaxer pays a bill, opens an account, or submits an application for you.
Read-only, always
Bank connections run through Plaid and can only read balances and dates. Your bank login is entered with Plaid, never with us.
Consent is a switch
Score entry, account aggregation, and AI features are separate opt-ins. Turn any of them off whenever you like and the rest of the app keeps working.
Math instead of marketing
Cards are ranked by what they return on your spend, lenders by what you would pay. Whether an institution pays us is not an input to either.
Education, not repair
We do not dispute items, pull reports, or promise a score. We teach the system and show you your own numbers inside it.
How we make money
CreditMaxer is free. Some of the institutions in the Card Hub and the Loan Hub pay us a commission when you visit them through our links or are approved after doing so. Those links are marked Sponsored where they appear.
Compensation never changes how anything is ranked or whether it appears, and plenty of the institutions we list pay us nothing. The full rules are in our Advertiser disclosure.
Who builds it
CreditMaxer is made by GuardianLive, a small team in the United States. We write the coaching logic, verify every rate in our comparison tables against the lender’s own published information, and read the support inbox ourselves. The date next to a rate is the date one of us last checked it.
