Citi / Aadvantage Business World Elite Mastercard is a $99-a-year miles card from Citi. Its best everyday rates are 2x on car rentals, 2x on gas stations, and 2x on telecom; everything else earns 1x. There is also 2x on American Airlines, a single-merchant rate. Rewards are American AAdvantage miles that only spend inside that program, so we value them at roughly a third of a cent each.
On our reference budget of $73,200 a year it earns $292, which clears the $99 fee with $193 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 75,000 miles after $5,000 in 5 months, is the strongest reason to open it in a given year. The annual fee is waived the first year.
Keep business spending on it for the separate statement alone; the rewards are the extra. Check the issuer's other business card before deciding, since the categories differ more than the fees do.
