First Hawaiian Bank Priority Destinations World Elite is a $50-a-year points card from First Hawaiian Bank. Its best everyday rates are 5x on travel, 2x on gas stations, and 2x on grocery stores; everything else earns 1x. Travel is capped at $6,000 a year, then drops to the base rate.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it earns $450, which clears the $50 fee with $400 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 75,000 miles after $3,000 in 3 months, is the strongest reason to open it in a given year. The annual fee is waived the first year.
Pay the fee if you will redeem for travel. For cash back, a no-fee flat-rate card earns nearly as much with less to think about.
