FNBO Amtrak Guest Rewards Preferred Mastercard is a $99-a-year points card from FNBO. Its best everyday rates are 2x on dining, 2x on ridesharing, and 2x on transit; everything else earns 1x. There is also 3x on Amtrak, a single-merchant rate. Rewards are Amtrak Guest Rewards points that only spend inside that program, so we value them at roughly a third of a cent each.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it earns $114, which clears the $99 fee with $15 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 20,000 points after $1,000 in 3 months, adds to the first year's return.
Get it if you already fly or stay with Amtrak Guest Rewards often enough to use the perks. A general travel card earns points that go more places.
