Fort Hood National Bank Mastercard Travel Rewards+ is a $99-a-year points card from Fort Hood National Bank. Its best everyday rates are 4x on entertainment, 4x on fitness clubs, and 4x on gas stations; everything else earns 1.5x. Rewards are Elan Rewards points that only spend inside that program, so we value them at about 0.67¢ each.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it earns $356, which clears the $99 fee with $257 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 25,000 points after $2,000 in 120 days, adds to the first year's return. The annual fee is waived the first year.
Get it if you already fly or stay with Elan Rewards often enough to use the lounge access. A general travel card earns points that go more places.
