USAA Eagle Navigator Visa Signature is a $95-a-year points card from USAA. Its best everyday rates are 3x on ridesharing, 3x on tolls, and 3x on travel; everything else earns 2x. Its points redeem for about 0.5¢ each rather than a full cent, and we value them that way.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it earns $261, which clears the $95 fee with $166 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 30,000 points after $3,000 in 90 days, adds to the first year's return.
Pay the fee if you will redeem for travel. For cash back, a no-fee flat-rate card earns nearly as much with less to think about.
