Wells Fargo Choice Privileges Mastercard is a no-annual-fee points card from Wells Fargo. Its best everyday rates are 3x on gas stations, 3x on grocery stores, and 3x on home improvement; everything else earns 1x. There is also 5x on Choice Privileges, a single-merchant rate. Rewards are Choice Privileges Points points that only spend inside that program, so we value them at roughly a third of a cent each.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it returns about $138, an effective 0.6% back. The welcome bonus, 60,000 points after $1,000 in 3 months, is the strongest reason to open it in a given year.
Get it if you already fly or stay with Choice Privileges Points often enough to use the perks. A general travel card earns points that go more places.
