Wells Fargo Choice Privileges Select Mastercard is a $95-a-year points card from Wells Fargo. Its best everyday rates are 5x on gas stations, 5x on grocery stores, and 5x on home improvement; everything else earns 1x. There is also 10x on Choice Privileges, a single-merchant rate. Rewards are Choice Privileges Points points that only spend inside that program, so we value them at roughly a third of a cent each.
On our reference budget of $24,600 a year it earns $194, which clears the $95 fee with $99 to spare before any credits or perks. The welcome bonus, 60,000 points after $3,000 in 3 months, is the strongest reason to open it in a given year.
Get it if you already fly or stay with Choice Privileges Points often enough to use the free night. A general travel card earns points that go more places.
